'One in four customers' opting for T Mobile broadband
Following the announcement of its latest sales report, T Mobile has stated that it believes mobile broadband take up is stronger than ever, broadbandgenie.co.uk reports.
The network announced this week that it had seen a significant number of people opting for mobile broadband services in the first quarter of 2008 (Q3) and that the period had seen its customer base reach 17 million.
Commenting on the news, T Mobile's UK chief executive Jim Hyde said that the positive numbers for the network had a lot to do with an increasing consumer demand for mobile broadband.
"During 2007, just four per cent of new contract customers signed up for mobile broadband but this has now shot up to 25 per cent. The increase in our non-voice revenues is a direct reflection of this positive trend," he said.
T Mobile are also planning to extend their retail stores in the UK to 300 and have entered into a partnership with the 3 network that could see more high speed mobile broadband services on the horizon.
