Mobile phone users get in on the Olympic action
With the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games due to start later this week, gamers with mobile phones can now get in on the action with a new title.
Sega and Glu's Beijing 2008 is available to download on mobile phones and according to Pocket Gamer, offers a range of activities that will get players into the spirit of the event.
The 100-metre sprint, 200-metre freestyle swim, table tennis and hammer throw are events in which competitors will be asked to test their "sense of rhythm and timing" the site adds these could provide brief moments of entertainment between watching the live shows.
"The allure of trying to beat an Olympic or world record may well run strong in many who sample Beijing 2008's short but sweet delights," the site concludes.
Beijing's 2008 Olympic Games begins with an official opening ceremony on Friday August 8th and runs until the closing event on the 24th.
